Hello everyone!
I've coded an area wide encounter daemon for my server. It lets you set up
encounter tables like the NWN default encounter wizard, but this one lets you
define the Challenge rating of a certain encounter entry as well as the number
of monsters that will appear in that encounter. It also lets you determine the
frequency of certain encounters (say you want a group of orcs to appear more
often than a group of goblins at your encounter point) as well as support for
unique monsters (like if you have a boss monster that you just want to spawn
once someplace in the dungeon). You can also make it so that certain encounters
only appear during the day or night - for example I made an encounter table for
my module that was all villagers during the day and at night they de-spawned and
undead populated their spawn points, just like many MMORPG's that i've played.
Once you get it installed its a snap to use, all you ever need to do is alter
the encounter table file and update your module and you're good to go. Infact
just today I made one encounter table full of undead and groups of undead at
various challenge ratings and I just burned through populating 3 levels of a
crypt in about 10 minutes. Once the table was set up, all I had to do was drop
down way points - thats right, you don't have to edit your way points as you
place them to make them spawn specific monsters like some other peoples systems.
Anyway, I posted the entire thing to this thread:

The main encounter daemon file is actually in 7 NWSCRIPT posts because it was
too large to fit in just 1 post :0
Anyway, I hope some people like it and use it and if you will, please post
comments to that thread to let me hear your feedback!
Thanks
